Fernando Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Rancosinho defense, Mário Teixeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Nunes. The SC Rancosinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Nunes should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Leal in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Pedroso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Duarte Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Pedroso was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
