After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, João Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Taveira's supporters rose to their feet, but João Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Pedroso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Azevedo in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Gomes saved SC Taveira from getting behind. Rogério Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vítor Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Azevedo in the 13th minute of the match. João Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Gil Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vítor Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Rabuide. Vítor Gomes made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Rogério Garcia sent off a good shot on target. If Abel Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Garcia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Vítor Gomes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 35 minutes in the game, Abel Azevedo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Vítor Gomes having to interfere. João Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Pedroso having to interfere. When SC Taveira's Gil Setúbal in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Rabuide's goalie prevented a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abel Azevedo made a kick off. Vítor Gomes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rogério Garcia went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Vítor Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Gil Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Taveira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Setúbal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, SC Taveira's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Azevedo came free, but Vítor Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, SC Rabuide's Rogério Garcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vítor Gomes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Carlos Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Azevedo in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Gomes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Santos in the 76th minute of play forced SC Rabuide's goalkeeper Alexandre Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Azevedo in the 79th minute of play. Rogério Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Rabuide's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Taveira the free kick. The supporters of SC Taveira booed when SC Rabuide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílcar Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 99 minutes, Abel Azevedo made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. SC Taveira's Vítor Gomes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
