Jorge Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. A collision led to Carapinheira FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jorge Baptista hit a great ball. A hard shot by Lucas Silva from long distance, 16 minutes into the match, got Cláudio Antunes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Daniel Valente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Viana having to make a save. In the 24th match minute, Carapinheira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Guerreiro to maneuver through the defense. Albertino Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Cláudio Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertino Vieira got free with Cláudio Antunes in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cláudio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Henriques in the 28th minute of the match. Gabriel Henriques struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cláudio Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Valinha. In the 33rd minute, Daniel Valente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filipe Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Viana having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, SC Valinha's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Valente came free, but Jorge Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Valinha's zone, Filipe Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Viana came out of the goal and Filipe Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Valente in the 45th minute of play forced SC Valinha's goalkeeper Jorge Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Valinha's goalkeeper Jorge Viana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carapinheira FC's Cláudio Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Vieira in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to SC Valinha getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Lucas Silva hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Daniel Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Gustavo Assis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Valinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carapinheira FC the free kick. The supporters of Carapinheira FC booed when SC Valinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Assis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Henriques in the 78th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Valinha fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Carapinheira FC a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Domingos Guerreiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Valinha's Jorge Viana. 0-3. The Carapinheira FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carapinheira FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
