André Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Simão Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Viegas made a kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Zagalho FC's goal looked a bit too open when André Viegas came free, but Simão Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Azevedo's late challenge caught a Monchique FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Monchique FC booed when Zagalho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Zagalho FC defense, Inácio Tavares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Luz. The Zagalho FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Luz should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Simão Luz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Monchique FC's zone, Miguel Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Gomes came out of the goal and Miguel Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Zagalho FC booed when Monchique FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Setúbal didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Jesus in the 93rd minute of play forced Monchique FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Miguel Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Zagalho FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Monchique FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Monchique FC.
