In the 9th minute of the match, Manuel Jesus tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Xavier Dantas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. SC Macedinho's Pedro Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Veiga in the 14th minute of play. If Fernando Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 24 minutes on the clock, Jorge Pinho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Macedinho fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Sambado FC. Afonso Moutinho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro Mendes. 0-1. If Júlio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Afonso Melo hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sambado FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filipe Silva was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Macedinho's players had a chance to rest. António Moniz struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Xavier Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Macedinho. Paulo Martins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Fernando Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Sambado FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sambado FC's Paulo Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, SC Macedinho's goalkeeper Pedro Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Veiga. Pedro Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Jesus during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 57 minutes into the game, one of SC Macedinho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. SC Macedinho:s Pedro Mendes showed great skill when he stopped Afonso Moutinho:s penalty. Sambado FC's Xavier Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Moniz in the 60th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, SC Macedinho's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Martins came free, but Pedro Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Martins in the 92nd minute of play forced SC Macedinho's goalkeeper Pedro Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
