In the 3rd match minute, SC Firminos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Borba to maneuver through the defense. Hélder Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Leal having to interfere. Afonso Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Faro in the 10th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Vieira in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cristiano Luz came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Aventeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Luz couldn't finish the play. If Cristiano Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Faro might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Faro ran back to his position shaking his head. Aventeira's Abel Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Vieira in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th minute, Cristiano Luz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Afonso Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Silva in the 40th minute of play forced Aventeira's goalkeeper Abel Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélder Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Abel Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Humberto Vieira was the one to do the kick off. In the 67th minute Humberto Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Humberto Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
