Aventeira's Abel Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Amaral in the 22nd minute of play. André Gonçalves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aventeira. In the 29th match minute, SC Valejas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. Aventeira's Luís Faro got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to SC Valejas getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Lourenço Oliveira hit a great ball. André Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Luz in the 38th minute of play. After 41 minutes of play, SC Valejas's Nuno Torres made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Amaral was the one to do the kick off. Aventeira's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
