António Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Afonso Barros made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Cunha in the 5th minute. SC Arripiado's Afonso Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save SC Arripiado from getting a goal against them. Sérgio Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. João Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SC Arripiado fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when SC Arripiado's Paulo Barbosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Correia in the 22nd minute of play forced SC Vinagra's goalkeeper João Lisboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SC Arripiado booed when SC Vinagra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Lisboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Basílio Amaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Arripiado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Vinagra the free kick. In the 29th match minute, SC Arripiado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Amaro to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, SC Arripiado's goalkeeper Afonso Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artur Brito. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Arripiado fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Armindo Miranda walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Artur Brito's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Afonso Barros firmly grabbed it by the left post. João Lisboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Barbosa in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Barbosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Brito in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to SC Arripiado getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. António Paiva hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, SC Vinagra's Armindo Miranda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sérgio Correia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. SC Arripiado's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Afonso Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the game, Paulo Barbosa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Lisboa. Paulo Barbosa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. SC Vinagra's João Lisboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Paiva in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonso Rodrigues during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Afonso Rodrigues hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. A collision led to SC Vinagra getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. David Luz hit a great ball. João Lisboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. António Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Lisboa having to interfere.
