Zimbreiros FC's António Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Queirós in the 20th minute of play. With a little luck, Zimbreiros FC's António Paredes got control of the ball when Viriato Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led to Padornelo FC's Júlio Matos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Amadeu Dias hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, António Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mário Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emílio Andrade struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Mário Abreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zimbreiros FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Lima got free with António Paredes in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Queirós was the one to do the kick off. António Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Lima in the 53rd minute of play. Mário Abreu made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Oliveira Morais sent off a good shot on target. Xavier Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Jorge Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zimbreiros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Viriato Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Amorim in the 74th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zimbreiros FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Padornelo FC. David Monteiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving António Paredes. 2-0. When Afonso Aleixo fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zimbreiros FC's protests and gave Afonso Aleixo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Padornelo FC booed when Zimbreiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristiano Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
