When Vicente Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zimbreiros FC's protests and gave Vicente Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Estaleiro booed when Zimbreiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emílio Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Zimbreiros FC's António Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Dias in the 34th minute of play. Estaleiro's André Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Barros in the 35th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorge Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. António Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Dias in the 55th minute of the match. Armindo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. António Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Oliveira Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 70th minute, Jorge Barros made a precise shot to the right of André Ribeiro. Estaleiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Pinheiro during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
