Gavinhos FC's Lúcio Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Moniz in the 9th minute of play. The Gavinhos FC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Gavinhos FC's Lúcio Marques looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jorge Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Paiva having to interfere. If Fábio Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gustavo Brás shot from long distance in the 24th minute, but Lúcio Paiva was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Mendes in the 33rd minute of play forced Regateiras FC's goalkeeper Eusébio Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Paiva was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorge Moniz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 35 minute of play. Jorge Moniz struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Lúcio Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Regateiras FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lúcio Marques in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Monteiro saved Regateiras FC from getting behind. Gavinhos FC's Lúcio Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Gavinhos FC from getting a goal against them. If Jorge Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Pinto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Regateiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Pinto to maneuver through the defense. If Joaquim Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
