The referee ignored Salgadinho's protests and gave Miguel Resende a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Salgadinho's Miguel Resende got a free kick in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Resende in the 13th minute of play forced Salgadinho's goalkeeper Delfim Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Carvalheda's zone, Afonso Pacheco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Vaz came out of the goal and Afonso Pacheco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Eusébio Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salgadinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexandre Abreu, 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nuno Vaz made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Afonso Pacheco sent off a good shot on target. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albertino Resende to make the kick off. Salgadinho's Afonso Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Carvalheda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salgadinho the free kick. Nuno Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Pacheco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nuno Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Carvalheda eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
