The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Borba got free with Luís Borba in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Aguiar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Borba saved SC Balsas from getting behind. Luís Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Aguiar in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Cláudio Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrigoes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute, Hugo Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Manuel Domingues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Catarino Porto's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The supporters of SC Balsas booed when Barrigoes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Assis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Catarino Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Balsas's supporters rose to their feet, but Catarino Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Aguiar was the one to do the kick off. Barrigoes FC's Manuel Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Barrigoes FC from getting a goal against them. David Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luís Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Domingues was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joaquim Reis. Hugo Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Domingues having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Catarino Porto put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Domingues. Luís Borba struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Luís Borba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barrigoes FC. Cláudio Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Borba having to interfere. Manuel Domingues was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Catarino Porto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 89 minute of play. Diogo Reis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Borba. SC Balsas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Manuel Domingues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Amaral in the 96th minute.
