Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rui Pereira took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Jorge Moura fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taboa's protests and gave Jorge Moura a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso Lisboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Tiago Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, SC Fayal's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Tavares came free, but Bruno Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Tiago Mendes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 19 minutes into the match, Taboa's goalkeeper Tiago Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Reis. If Basílio Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Afonso Lisboa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tiago Mendes to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, SC Fayal's Paulo Santarém got a free kick in the 35th minute. Basílio Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Teixeira having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Pereira in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorge Moura hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Armindo Maia hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, SC Fayal's Cristiano Borba broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Lisboa was the one to do the kick off. SC Fayal's José Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Lisboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the game, Taboa's Basílio Tavares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Tiago Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Armindo Maia hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Cristiano Borba was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tiago Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Lisboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Moura hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Afonso Lisboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Basílio Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Taboa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Tavares couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Afonso Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fayal's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Lisboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Taboa's Filipe Sousa got a free kick in the 95th minute. José Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Lisboa in the 98th minute of play forced Taboa's goalkeeper Tiago Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
