Adolfo Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Trindade having to interfere. Adolfo Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 8 minutes, Paulo Resende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fogueteiro and the Azurva players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Paulo Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 9 minutes, Joaquim Magalhães mouthed his way into the referee's book. In the 10th minute of the match Eduardo Macedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernardo Trindade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 12th minute, Manuel Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Manuel Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernardo Trindade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Adolfo Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardo Trindade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolfo Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquim Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Ricardo Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fogueteiro's Bernardo Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Rocha in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd of the match, Domingos Branco tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Fábio Pereira got in the way and made a wonderful save. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Joaquim Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fogueteiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fábio Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ricardo Ferreira sped through Azurva's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fábio Pereira. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Domingos Branco made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Adolfo Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Trindade. Fogueteiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adolfo Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. If Manuel Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 63rd minute, Azurva's Manuel Teixeira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bernardo Trindade. Bernardo Trindade yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. 67 minutes into the match, Azurva's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Ferreira came free, but Fábio Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Ferreira in the 71st minute of play forced Azurva's goalkeeper Fábio Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Araújo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Adolfo Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Trindade having to interfere. When Azurva's Manuel Teixeira in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fogueteiro's goalie prevented a goal. If Domingos Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Trindade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Azurva's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
