Amadeu Antunes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when SC Azeiteiros's Álvaro Vale shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Eusébio Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Lisboa hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alagoas FC's zone, Vítor Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Antunes came out of the goal and Vítor Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amadeu Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeu Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Maia's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Álvaro Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alagoas FC's António Lisboa got his second yellow card of the match in the 38th minute. The referee ordered António Lisboa off the ground. 41 minutes into the game, Nuno Branco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eusébio Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th match minute, Alagoas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Pires to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Diogo Leite led 46 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Alagoas FC's Amadeu Antunes became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-2. The Alagoas FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Azeiteiros were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Branco to make the kick off. SC Azeiteiros's Vítor Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Álvaro Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Jaime Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Azeiteiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alagoas FC the free kick. Vítor Maia struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Amadeu Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Azeiteiros. After a rather tough play, Alagoas FC's Nuno Leite got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Vítor Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Amadeu Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Vale in the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, SC Azeiteiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Baptista to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute of the match Hélder Cruz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amadeu Antunes skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Azeiteiros eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
