Amadeu Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Guilhufe booed when Alagoas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Lisboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Amorim hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. If André Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Amadeu Antunes made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Nuno Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If André Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilhufe's André Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Vicente Gonçalves put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Amadeu Antunes. The Alagoas FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Guilhufe from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
