The SC Azeiteiros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eusébio Sousa should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, SC Azeiteiros's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Gonçalves came free, but Eusébio Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Alexandre Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Guerreiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Vítor Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Delfim Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guilhufe's protests and gave Delfim Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. Delfim Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Vítor Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Guilhufe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vítor Maia fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Vale in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogério Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. André Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Dias in the 44th minute of play forced SC Azeiteiros's goalkeeper Eusébio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Vicente Gonçalves notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Azeiteiros's Eusébio Sousa. Eusébio Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Álvaro Vale to strike the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Guilhufe's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Maia came free, but Rogério Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guilhufe's Fernando Barros got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Jorge Guerreiro's late challenge caught a SC Azeiteiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Guerreiro helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Guilhufe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Vicente Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Eusébio Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Neto in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Cláudio Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guilhufe's André Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eusébio Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Gonçalves in the 82nd minute of the match. Guilhufe's Rogério Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Vale in the 86th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente Gonçalves in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Sousa saved SC Azeiteiros from getting behind. After having played for 94 minutes, André Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guilhufe's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Azeiteiros's Eusébio Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Gonçalves in the 95th minute of play.
