Oliveira Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Castro in the 4th minute of the match. Luís Fontes hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Afonso Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliveira Delgado was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Lara FC's Afonso Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliveira Delgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Humberto Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Ventureira's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Adolfo Valente made a huge save. Oliveira Delgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Lopes's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Oliveira Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. SC Ventureira's Oliveira Delgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Castro in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match Lara FC got a corner. SC Ventureira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gabriel Carneiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. 32 minutes into the match, Luís Mota had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolfo Valente. Lara FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Mota was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 36 minutes into the match, Lara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Soares came free, but Adolfo Valente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Lopes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Lúcio Pires shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oliveira Delgado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Lara FC's André Esteves got a free kick in the 57th minute. Adolfo Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Lara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Soares came free, but Adolfo Valente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Humberto Soares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Ventureira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. With an all-out effort, Lara FC's Oliveira Delgado threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Afonso Lopes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Manuel Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Oliveira Delgado made a huge save. With a little luck, SC Ventureira's Oliveira Delgado got control of the ball when Manuel Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Afonso Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lara FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliveira Delgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Morais during the 80th minute. Humberto Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adolfo Valente having to make a save. Luís Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Manuel Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lara FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliveira Delgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lara FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
