Caldeiras FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Gontijas's Xavier Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Anjos in the 8th minute of play. After having played for 9 minutes, Tomás Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caldeiras FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Anjos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 15 minutes, Paulo Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlos Porto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from André Tavares went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Marco Moura hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Heitor Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Porto having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Moura in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Porto saved Caldeiras FC from getting behind. If Paulo Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heitor Matias's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Carlos Porto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 30 played minutes Caldeiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Rui Henriques. Xavier Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Assis in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Caldeiras FC's zone, Marco Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Porto came out of the goal and Marco Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xavier Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Tomás Anjos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caldeiras FC's Carlos Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Moura in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Gontijas were awarded a corner. Carlos Fonseca went to the cornerflag to take it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Anjos to strike the kick off in the second half. Marco Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Xavier Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caldeiras FC. Carlos Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Moura in the 87th minute of the match. Heitor Matias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Paulo Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caldeiras FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gontijas.
