In the 2nd minute, Eusébio Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artur Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Santos having to interfere. Amílcar Antunes came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Martinhanes's Diamantino Gomes. But to his dismay, Diamantino Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Inácio Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Santos having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Fontes in the 20th minute of play forced Lobrigos's goalkeeper Amílcar Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Inácio Viegas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Martinhanes's João Fontes in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lobrigos's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Torres during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Amílcar Antunes made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Diamantino Gomes sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute Inácio Viegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When João Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Martinhanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Fontes couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Lobrigos's Eusébio Correia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eusébio Correia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lobrigos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eusébio Correia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Lobrigos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Martinhanes:s goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nuno Abreu was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lobrigos's goalkeeper Amílcar Antunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diamantino Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílcar Antunes having to interfere. When Nuno Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Lobrigos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Abreu couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute, Nuno Abreu had to leave the field with a concussion. 77 minutes into the game, Lourenço Pacheco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Martinhanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lobrigos the free kick. A collision led to Martinhanes getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Lourenço Pacheco hit a great ball. João Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diamantino Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílcar Antunes having to interfere. If Artur Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martinhanes were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lobrigos for a fine match.
