Marco Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Gomes in the 7th minute. Diamantino Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Marco Aguiar made a huge save. In the 13th minute Adelino Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Adelino Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 played minutes Martinhanes got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Viana. Diamantino Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Aguiar having to interfere. Alexandre Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Faria in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the match, Martinhanes's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Pinheiro came free, but João Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adelino Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Fontes made a kick off. Diamantino Gomes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Adelino Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Machico FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. João Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adelino Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. João Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machico FC. Diamantino Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diamantino Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Diamantino Gomes hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74th match minute, Martinhanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Adolfo Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Machico FC's Adelino Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute Adelino Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Fontes struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Marco Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Martinhanes. Marco Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Gomes in the 94th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
