The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Segude FC. Afonso Carvalho had in the 36thth minute some difficulties stopping Albertino Rodrigues's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Segude FC's Afonso Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Magalhães in the 40th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Medelim FC got a freekick which was hit by João Moniz. Gil Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Oliveira in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when António Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Magalhães got free with Afonso Carvalho in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Pedro Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gil Correia. António Gonçalves was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Medelim FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pedro Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Gil Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
