Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Medelim FC's António Gonçalves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorge Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Gil Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Henrique Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th minute, José Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henrique Magalhães kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 11thth minute. Though ot was a great shot SC Vinheiros's keeper João Guerreiro was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Gil Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Gueifão in the 14th minute of play. Henrique Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Gueifão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, one of Medelim FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Medelim FC. The referee gave SC Vinheiros a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mário Almeida, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Medelim FC's Gil Correia. 0-1. João Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Correia having to interfere. After 27 minutes, Simão Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medelim FC and the SC Vinheiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Medelim FC's Simão Leal got a free kick in the 27th minute. Gil Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Resende in the 28th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertino Rodrigues during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave SC Vinheiros a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mário Almeida, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Medelim FC's Gil Correia. 0-2. Medelim FC's Gil Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Resende in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Jorge Gueifão made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Filipe Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Vinheiros and the Medelim FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, SC Vinheiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Leal to maneuver through the defense. José Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Vinheiros's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Albertino Rodrigues was slow to take the kick. During this time Medelim FC's players had a chance to rest. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Medelim FC! The goalkeeper, Gil Correia, was totally fooled by SC Vinheiros's Mário Almeida, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 69 played minutes Medelim FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Figueiredo. A hard shot by Mário Almeida from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Gil Correia's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 81 minutes, Henrique Gueifão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medelim FC and the SC Vinheiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 83 minutes, Armindo Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medelim FC and the SC Vinheiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 84 played minutes, SC Vinheiros's Mário Almeida shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil Correia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Vinheiros reached it. João Resende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Henrique Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Gonçalves in the 90th minute of play forced SC Vinheiros's goalkeeper João Guerreiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Guerreiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Mário Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The SC Vinheiros supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Vinheiros would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
