Amílcar Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Moaz getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Armindo Araújo hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Moaz's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Castro came free, but Amílcar Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amílcar Cruz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cláudio Castro's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Paulo Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Abel Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cláudio Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Cruz having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Armindo Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Castro in the 43rd minute of play forced Moaz's goalkeeper Amílcar Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Luzio were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cláudio Castro to strike the kick off in the second half. Amílcar Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adolfo Assunção in the 59th minute. Paulo Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Cruz having to interfere. Moaz's Paulo Brás got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cláudio Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amílcar Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Moaz's Cláudio Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Paulo Brás came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Moaz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Brás couldn't finish the play. Luzio's Abel Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Valente in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Luzio eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
