But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bento Sousa couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, SC Vinhal's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Sousa came free, but Artur Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artur Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Sousa in the 14th minute of play. Viriato Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Gueifão having to interfere. Lúcio Gueifão made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Viriato Assunção sent off a good shot on target. Tiago Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Artur Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bento Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Afonso Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Artur Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Gueifão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 45th minute Diogo Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Teixeira to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Tarouba's Afonso Teixeira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Artur Mendes. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. Lúcio Gueifão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Mota in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Tarouba's goalkeeper Lúcio Gueifão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Viriato Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Vinhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Assunção was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Gueifão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Diogo Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lúcio Gueifão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Assunção in the 64th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basílio Brito during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Basílio Brito hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Tarouba's zone, Viriato Assunção stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Gueifão came out of the goal and Viriato Assunção tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Assunção in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Gueifão saved SC Tarouba from getting behind. Alfredo Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfredo Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. SC Tarouba's Lúcio Gueifão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Assunção in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, SC Tarouba's Afonso Teixeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lúcio Gueifão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Vinhal's Artur Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save SC Vinhal from getting a goal against them. In the 87th match minute, SC Tarouba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Viriato Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot. António Porto hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Manuel Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes in the game Pedro Viegas got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Tarouba had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
