The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Alexandre Porto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Rapoulinha's Xavier Valente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Valada getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. David Gueifão hit a great ball. Amílcar Macedo hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Xavier Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Gueifão in the 13th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Marco Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cláudio Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Basílio Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute of the match Catarino Pedroso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xavier Valente skillfully saved the ball. When Valada's Alexandre Porto in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Rapoulinha's goalie prevented a goal. Xavier Valente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Xavier Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Rapoulinha's zone, David Gueifão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Valente came out of the goal and David Gueifão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Marco Almeida made the kick off in the second half. Joaquim Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Valente having to interfere. Marco Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Paulo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Amílcar Macedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Ferreira. Valada's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amílcar Macedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Xavier Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Gueifão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Marco Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Rapoulinha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Paulo Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Dias in the 77th minute of play. Amílcar Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Ferreira having to interfere.
