In the 11thth minute of the game Francisco Assunção who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lagens FC's Fernando Pinto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Nascimento in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Pinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Eusébio Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Adelino Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Lagens FC's Carlos Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adelino Melo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Fonseca during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute, Vítor Delgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Manuel Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lagens FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Adelino Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lagens FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Faro in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on Lagens FC's corner José Faro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adelino Melo quite easily take care of the ball. André Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Fernando Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Castanheiro booed when Lagens FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Pinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Francisco Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Assunção was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Pinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Pinto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Adelino Melo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Fonseca went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Francisco Assunção struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Fernando Pinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castanheiro. If Carlos Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Nascimento in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 played minutes Lagens FC got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Correia. Fernando Pinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Assunção in the 86th minute. When Vasco Coimbra fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lagens FC's protests and gave Vasco Coimbra a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Assunção got free with Fernando Pinto in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernando Pinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Nascimento in the 89th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lagens FC's zone, Francisco Assunção stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Pinto came out of the goal and Francisco Assunção tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
