Ingarnal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvaiade. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Teixeira made a kick off. Thanks to some nice moves José Amorim could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Rui Domingues however easily saved by the left post. Alvaiade's José Amorim came free and shot a quick shot against goal 55 minutes in the game, fortunately Rui Domingues had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After 58 minutes, António Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ingarnal and the Alvaiade players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78thth minute of the game Vicente Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alvaiade's Carlos Amaral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Armando Carvalho's late challenge caught a Ingarnal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. After 79 played minutes Alvaiade got a freekick which was hit by Armando Carvalho. 81 minutes into the match, Alvaiade's goal looked a bit too open when Heitor Neto came free, but Carlos Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, João Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ingarnal's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
