The supporters of SC Palaios booed when Granginha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Lisboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Granginha FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Armindo Neves hit a great ball. Joaquim Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Diamantino Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Granginha FC got a freekick which was hit by André Freitas. Basílio Garcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Garcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Diamantino Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Barros in the 49th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Barros was the one to do the kick off. Alexandre Monteiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Tavares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Granginha FC's Miguel Simões got a free kick in the 56th minute. António Coimbra charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed António Coimbra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. António Coimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Diamantino Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Joaquim Barros struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Diamantino Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Palaios. António Guerreiro charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 75th minute, one of SC Palaios:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Palaios. A collision led to SC Palaios getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Marco Ferro hit a great ball. Alexandre Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Diamantino Tavares made a huge save. Armindo Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 101st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Palaios's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
