Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélder Gueifão in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adelino Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hélder Gueifão took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adelino Fontes. Adelino Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alfredo Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Alexandre Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Alguieira FC's Alexandre Aguiar got control of the ball when Alfredo Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustavo Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Adelino Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adelino Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With his leg Alexandre Aguiar managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when SC Madalena's Alfredo Sousa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Madalena's goalkeeper Adelino Fontes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustavo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Henriques took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adelino Fontes. SC Madalena's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélder Gueifão made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Sousa in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandre Aguiar saved Alguieira FC from getting behind. Alexandre Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Leão in the 55th minute of the match. Hélder Gueifão was extremely unlucky when he, in the 58th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 60 minutes, José Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Madalena and the Alguieira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, SC Madalena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Mendes to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SC Madalena booed when Alguieira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alguieira FC's zone, Pedro Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Aguiar came out of the goal and Pedro Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th match minute, Alguieira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Emanuel Gomes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 77 minutes into the match. The supporters of Alguieira FC booed when SC Madalena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position.
