In the 3rd minute, Paulo Fontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristóvão Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cristóvão Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Vieira in the 7th minute of the match. Mário Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Cristóvão Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Airo FC's Bruno Vieira got a free kick in the 15th minute. Paulo Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Queirós having to interfere. Jorge Leiria kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Cristiano Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Branco in the 30th minute of play forced Airo FC's goalkeeper Fábio Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Queirós having to interfere. After 37 minutes of play Ortigueira's Cristiano Rocha was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Airo FC booed when Ortigueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Álvaro Machado charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Álvaro Machado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 played minutes Airo FC got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Machado. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristóvão Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mário Vieira in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd match minute, Ortigueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Airo FC's Paulo Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Lopes might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fábio Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Lopes ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Cristóvão Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Airo FC's Mário Vieira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Adelino Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Fábio Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Bruno Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Airo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ortigueira the free kick. Bruno Vieira hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The Ortigueira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Airo FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Airo FC.
