In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boizoes FC's goalkeeper João Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Boizoes FC's João Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Oliveira in the 7th minute of play. If Paulo Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Vítor Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Samorinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Magalhães couldn't finish the play. Vítor Magalhães came free with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and João Moreira could save by the left post. Boizoes FC's André Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samorinha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Samorinha FC's Eduardo Ribeiro got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Oliveira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Boizoes FC's Alexandre Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boizoes FC's João Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Oliveira in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Rui Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vítor Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Barbosa got free with Miguel Assunção in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Borba hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Samorinha FC's goalkeeper Miguel Assunção, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ricardo Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Magalhães in the 98th minute of play forced Boizoes FC's goalkeeper João Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Samorinha FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Boizoes FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
