Otta's Manuel Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Cruz in the 7th minute of play. Manuel Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Amaral having to interfere. The supporters of Otta booed when SC Castelhanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Sá in the 24th minute of play forced SC Castelhanos's goalkeeper Daniel Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SC Castelhanos getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. António Paredes hit a great ball. Cristóvão Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Sá in the 41st minute of play forced SC Castelhanos's goalkeeper Daniel Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, António Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Castelhanos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Miguel Neto was slow to take the kick. During this time Otta's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Otta's Miguel Neto to fire away a dangerous shot which Daniel Amaral despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristóvão Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Daniel Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Otta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Castelhanos were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Alves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. João Alves struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Manuel Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Castelhanos. In the 59th match minute, Otta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Paredes to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, SC Castelhanos's Gaspar Marques broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bento Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Manuel Mendes made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Alves in the 63rd minute of play forced Otta's goalkeeper Manuel Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bento Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Alberto Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Mendes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gaspar Marques. After 90 minutes, Heitor Paiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Castelhanos and the Otta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniel Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to SC Castelhanos getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Emílio Coelho hit a great ball. Cristóvão Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
