A collision led to Panchorra getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Vítor Pacheco hit a great ball. Jacinto Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Almagreira FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panchorra the free kick. After a rather tough play, Almagreira FC's Sebastião Ferreira got a free kick in the 12th minute. Delfim Borges took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eusébio Guerreiro. Almagreira FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Rogério Borba sped through Almagreira FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eusébio Guerreiro. After a rather tough play, Panchorra's Rogério Borba got a free kick in the 20th minute. Eusébio Guerreiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Jacinto Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Hélder Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Panchorra's Hélder Matias got control of the ball when Jacinto Esteves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Panchorra were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hélder Matias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Panchorra supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Panchorra would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
