In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cimbres FC's goalkeeper Emílio Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Cimbres FC's goalkeeper Emílio Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Pires. In the 14th match minute, Cimbres FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Machado to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Amendoais FC's Cristiano Almeida broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, António Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cimbres FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emílio Lopes made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when David Pires sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Amendoais FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cimbres FC:s goal. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Cimbres FC. Armindo Queirós stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Viriato Cabral. 1-1. When António Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Cimbres FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cimbres FC's Alfredo Machado got a free kick in the 35th minute. David Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Lopes having to interfere. If Fernando Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viriato Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Almeida in the 41st minute of the match. After 41 minutes, Emílio Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amendoais FC and the Cimbres FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emílio Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. If Fernando Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute.
