In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Becos's goalkeeper Nuno Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abel Delgado charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Delgado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abel Delgado hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Daniel Pinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Abacas booed when Becos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Becos's Nuno Veiga got control of the ball when Sandro Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute, David Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Baptistas short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Nuno Veiga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 25th minute, Alexandre Monteiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Bessa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Daniel Pinto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nuno Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Pinto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Moura in the 34th minute of play forced Abacas's goalkeeper Joel Bessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Becos's Diamantino Moura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Bessa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Moura in the 41st minute of play forced Abacas's goalkeeper Joel Bessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Bessa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. After 47 played minutes Abacas got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Viegas. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diamantino Moura to make the kick off. After having played for 60 minutes, Sandro Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abacas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Pinto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nuno Veiga having to make a save. After 62 minutes of play, Abacas's Sandro Baptista made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nuno Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Júlio Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Baptista in the 72nd minute of the match. Sandro Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 75 minutes, Daniel Pinto made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Becos's Nuno Veiga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Pinto struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Nuno Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abacas. In the 84th match minute, Becos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Abel Delgado lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Becos! If Alexandre Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Becos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
