In the 2nd minute, Basílio Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonçalo Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Melo's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. When Jorge Fonseca got free in front of the goal in the 5th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Gonçalo Macedo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Basílio Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palheirao's Gonçalo Macedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Palheirao from getting a goal against them. After 12 played minutes Palheirao got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Abreu. 13 minutes into the match, Amílcar Fontes sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Gonçalo Macedo threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Amílcar Fontes this time. Jorge Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bento Baptista in the 18th minute of play forced SC Lagarteira's goalkeeper Tomás Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Baptista in the 20th minute of play. If Jorge Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Macedo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luís Melo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 37 minute of play. Tomás Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Baptista in the 40th minute of play. If Bento Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bento Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuno Delgado during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

Artur Teixeira's late challenge caught a SC Lagarteira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artur Teixeira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Palheirao's Artur Teixeira got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Gonçalo Macedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Fonseca went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute Bento Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Oliveira during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Palheirao's attack was well implemented in the 83rd minute, but when Bento Baptista was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Óscar Simões hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Luís Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gonçalo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Palheirao players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Lagarteira.
