Arnal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venestal the free kick. The supporters of Venestal booed when Arnal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Melo having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Arnal got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Correia. Filipe Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Venestal booed when Arnal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filipe Correia scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Borba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Diogo Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arnal's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Lima received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Júlio Melo came out and tried to block the shot, but António Lima slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. André Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Vaz in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Diogo Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venestal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arnal the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Venestal:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Arnal:s goal. Amadeu Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. André Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Arnal defense, Cristiano Vaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Borba. The Arnal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Borba should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Rodrigues to make the kick off. Diogo Vale took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for André Borba. Arnal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 55th minute, Diogo Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristiano Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 69th minute Filipe Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Borba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes Arnal got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Paredes. 71 minutes into the match, Arnal's goalkeeper André Borba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Vaz. In the 74th minute, António Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristiano Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but André Borba made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Filipe Correia in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After 85th play minutes Filipe Correia shot 2-3, a short shot which went by André Borba and just under the crossbar into goal. If António Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
