Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Palaios's Abel Leite started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Palaios getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Simão Pereira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Guarda in the 4th minute of play forced Palaios's goalkeeper Augusto Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Magueija FC booed when Palaios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliveira Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magueija FC's João Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Álvaro Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, João Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magueija FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the match, João Carneiro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palaios's Augusto Aleixo. Augusto Aleixo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Diogo Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Augusto Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Álvaro Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th play minute Álvaro Garcia came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mário Martins. 1-1. After 43 minutes of play, Palaios's Abel Leite made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mário Martins was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augusto Aleixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Guarda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mário Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Garcia in the 53rd minute of play. When Álvaro Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Palaios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Garcia couldn't finish the play. If Abel Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Guarda in the 75th minute of play forced Palaios's goalkeeper Augusto Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 played minutes Palaios got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Luz. Mário Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Leite in the 79th minute of play. Álvaro Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Augusto Aleixo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ricardo Reis. In the 86th minute Álvaro Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Magueija FC's Sandro Resende got a free kick in the 87th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
