In the 39th minute, Manuel Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Simões to make the kick off. In the 69th minute Joel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Manuel Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montargil's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Manuel Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 88 minutes into the game, Manuel Simões recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Diogo Martins. Manuel Simões showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. 92 minutes into the game, António Ferreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montargil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liceia FC the free kick. Montargil played a much better game than Liceia FC and deserved their victory. The Liceia FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
