After a rather tough play, SC Mota's Abel Tavares got a free kick in the 21st minute. Gaspar Faro, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alfredo Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Lourenço Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Alfredo Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Serradade's zone, Abel Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Monteiro came out of the goal and Abel Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Mota's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Miguel Neves scored to the left of an out of position Lourenço Moreira, making the score, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Neves to make the kick off. Serradade's António Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Simões in the 59th minute of play. Lourenço Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Macedo in the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, SC Mota got a penalty, and Cláudio Matos placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Lourenço Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 69 minutes, Carlos Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Mota and the Serradade players grew even worse after the yellow card. Serradade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Miguel Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serradade's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Reis made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 87thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but António Monteiro would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. António Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Simões in the 96th minute of the match. Lourenço Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
