Hugo Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Sernancelhe's zone, Jaime Santarém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Valente came out of the goal and Jaime Santarém tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Borges having to interfere. SC Hortas's Pedro Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Rodrigues in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Santarém got free with Hugo Valente in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute, José Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Valente was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Gaspar Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Hugo Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Gaspar Rocha recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hugo Valente. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Cardoso to make the kick off. If António Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fábio Rodrigues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Borges having to make a save. In the 62nd minute, Gaspar Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Valente. SC Sernancelhe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After some careless play in the SC Sernancelhe defense, Gaspar Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Valente. The SC Sernancelhe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Valente should have stopped the shot. Jaime Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Hugo Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, SC Hortas's goal looked a bit too open when António Cardoso came free, but Pedro Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79thth minute of the game António Cardoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Hortas's Pedro Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. António Cardoso charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed António Cardoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, António Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Sernancelhe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Hortas.
