In the 3rd minute, one of SC Regua:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Regua. In the 4th minute, the referee gave SC Regueira a penalty. Afonso Ramos looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Adolfo Resende. Carlos Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Joaquim Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, SC Regua's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Leão came free, but Adolfo Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Gabriel Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Regueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Resende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gabriel Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Adolfo Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Adolfo Resende made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabriel Leão kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adolfo Resende. That made the score 2-0 in the 43 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Leão made a kick off. If Carlos Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Regueira's Fábio Luz got a free kick in the 61st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Nogueira got free with Joaquim Leão in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, SC Regueira's Joaquim Leão got control of the ball when Nuno Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Correia in the 72nd minute of play forced SC Regueira's goalkeeper Joaquim Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Regua's Adolfo Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Leão in the 79th minute of play. When Carlos Correia came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the SC Regua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Correia couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the game, Carlos Gonçalves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Regueira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Regua the free kick. SC Regueira's Joaquim Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save SC Regueira from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Regueira had won after a very even match.
