Óscar Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Vítor Viana hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes, SC Varejeira's Lúcio Santarém shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cândido Borba came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Varejeira reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Assunção in the 27th minute of play forced Fregim FC's goalkeeper Cândido Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, SC Varejeira's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Cardoso came free, but Óscar Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Henriques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Neto having to make a save. If Gaspar Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored Fregim FC's protests and gave Jorge Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Fregim FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Varejeira:s goal. In the 44th minute there was a penalty for SC Varejeira. Lúcio Santarém stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cândido Borba. 1-0. When João Brás fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Varejeira's protests and gave João Brás a yellow card for diving instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Nuno Assunção made the kick off in the second half. If Gaspar Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Henriquess short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Óscar Neto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nuno Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cândido Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cândido Borba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaspar Brás went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. António Viegas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cândido Borba. Fregim FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Gaspar Brás cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Cândido Borba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Óscar Neto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Henriques in the 73rd minute. After 77 played minutes Fregim FC got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Borges. Fregim FC's Pedro Pedroso got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute.
