Mariano Freitas's late challenge caught a Zimbreirinha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. Mariano Freitas hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Cláudio Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Covanca booed when Zimbreirinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cláudio Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zimbreirinha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Cunha was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Zimbreirinha FC's goalkeeper Henrique Trindade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 70 minutes, Fábio Torres made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Zimbreirinha FC's Henrique Trindade tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vicente Setúbal scored 2-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrique Trindade, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Vicente Setúbal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henrique Trindade was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. 84 minutes into the match, Zimbreirinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Torres came free, but Henrique Trindade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Covanca's goalkeeper Rodrigo Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Sousa. If Fábio Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Covanca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
