After having played for 4 minutes, Amílcar Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvicais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílcar Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Carvicais's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Neves came free, but Daniel Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Campinho FC booed when Carvicais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. If Amílcar Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carvicais's João Brás got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílcar Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Rafael Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Amílcar Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Carvicais's Rafael Araújo threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from João Brás, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiago Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Brás in the 58th minute of play forced Campinho FC's goalkeeper Rafael Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
