The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gonçalo Moutinho's late challenge caught a Filhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Moutinho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Gonçalo Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Augusto Ribeiro fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Adail's protests and gave Augusto Ribeiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Adail getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Augusto Ribeiro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Santos in the 15th minute of play forced SC Adail's goalkeeper Eusébio Lisboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Augusto Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gonçalo Valente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquim Oliveira. Filhos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Américo Sá struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Joaquim Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Adail. Eusébio Lisboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filhos FC's Alberto Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alberto Baptista's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eusébio Lisboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 46 minutes into the match, Filhos FC's Paulo Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusébio Lisboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Adail reached it. Alberto Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Eusébio Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Gonçalo Valente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, Fernando Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Filhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Santos succeeded in the game's 82nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. If Américo Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Paulo Santos notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SC Adail's Eusébio Lisboa. Eusébio Lisboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Filhos FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Adail for a fine match.
