Bugalhos FC's Alexandre Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Castro in the 11th minute of play. Lourenço Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Alexandre Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Chascas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristóvão Martins during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Bugalhos FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Martins. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Castro in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lourenço Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute Lourenço Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Bugalhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Castro came free, but Alexandre Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Castro in the 50th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 67th minute, Augusto Pacheco sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Chascas's Gustavo Valente didn't even have to move. Eusébio Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gustavo Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes SC Chascas got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Pacheco. Gustavo Valente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Bugalhos FC's Alexandre Azevedo got control of the ball when Lourenço Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match, Lourenço Cardoso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alexandre Azevedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bugalhos FC's Afonso Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emanuel Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Alexandre Azevedo made a huge save. The supporters of SC Chascas booed when Bugalhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bugalhos FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Afonso Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bugalhos FC's protests and gave Afonso Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Afonso Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ricardo Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Azevedo was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Chascas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
