The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélder Freitas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cursaes's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lucas Dantas 32 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Artur Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Porto having to interfere. Lucas Dantas took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nuno Porto. Nuno Porto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 43rd match minute, SC Paradamonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Cruz in the 45th minute of play forced SC Paradamonte's goalkeeper Hélder Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Paradamonte's zone, Filipe Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Freitas came out of the goal and Filipe Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Filipe Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe Amorim to make the kick off. After 58 minutes Cursaes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abel Soares who took care of the corner kick. SC Paradamonte's Abel Soares was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nuno Porto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Brás in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuno Porto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the SC Paradamonte defense, Filipe Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hélder Freitas. The SC Paradamonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélder Freitas should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in SC Paradamonte's zone, Filipe Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Freitas came out of the goal and Filipe Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Paradamonte's goalkeeper Hélder Freitas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Cruz got free with Hélder Freitas in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Lucas Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Porto. Cursaes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Artur Brás's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Amorim in the 87th minute of play forced SC Paradamonte's goalkeeper Hélder Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cursaes were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after SC Paradamonte's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Baptista took the corner. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Cruz couldn't finish the play. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Paradamonte! When the match had been going on for 97 minutes, Cursaes's João Baptista got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hélder Freitas. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cursaes walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
